John's story
See the story of how one normal week, including a birthday, turned into the fight of his life.
In 2018, John Davey became a quad amputee after being diagnosed with meningococcal. He was rushed to hospital and placed in an induced coma which led to sepsis, a heart attack and kidney failure. To save his life – doctors amputated both of his legs and arms. John and his wife, Debra Underwood, have faced the continuing months of John’s recovery and rehabilitation as well as the emotional grieving of what life was and celebrating the positives of what life is now.
